Refocusing Google Local Efforts to a New Geographic Target

So we were doing some research and SEO optimization for one of our electrician clients who moved recently and is now an Aurora IL electrician. This obviously changed the geographic focus of his business from Naperville Illinois to Aurora and Geneva.

We are refocusing our social media efforts as well as trying to update all his local listings, including Google Local. This of course means updating all the relevant business directory listings like Yelp, Kudzu, Manta, Merchantcircle, Google Local and of course Yahoo Local … to just name a few of the thousands that are out there.

I also did some twitter research last night using these different tools to pull out some decent hashtags for future targeting.

So far I have only been able to come up with these relevant hashtags. If you know of others related to the Chicago and Aurora IL area put them in a comment below.

Because in recent years Google has put so much focus on local targeting we had done a decent job focusing efforts to Naperville but now we are finding that it is not so easy to switch gears and quickly refocus his online assets to a new geographic target.
